On October 9, 2025, the steward ownership conference takes place for the third time in Berlin, connecting connecting entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors, industry leaders, and change makers from diverse sectors and many countries – join the Swiss delegation! Purpose Switzerland is using this opportunity to offer interested parties from Switzerland a small side program alongside the conference.

Inspiration, Community, Deep Dive. To make the inspiring conference even more attractive for Swiss entrepreneurs, thought leaders, investors, or the generally curious minds, together with our German colleagues we are coordinating a warm-up to dive into the topic and its entrepreneurial leaders on the day before alongside the participation of the conference.
Join us on October 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM for an exciting tour of the city. We’ll visit five inspiring steward-owned companies – Mogli, Haferkater, Einhorn, Vyld and Stapelstein –, hear their stories and have time to ask questions to ask questions and learn from their experiences. We’ve planned a fun-filled day where you’ll not only test and taste some amazing products but also get a behind-the-scenes look at their offices and stores.

About the conference on Thursday
The SO:25 on Thursday, October 9 in Berlin, organized by the Purpose Foundation and the Stiftung Verantwortungseigentum, creates once again a space where all global stakeholders around steward-ownership come together – whether entrepreneurs, investors, scientists, or people who are simply curious. International speakers, workshops, an exhibition, case studies, and plenty of time for exchange enable immersion into the world of steward-ownership.
Past speakers include Charles Conn (chairman of the board of Patagonia), Meredith Whittaker (the president of the signal foundation), Rutger Bregman (Author of “Humankind”), Prof. Katharina Pistor (Lawyer and Author of “the code of capital”) and many more - there will be an interesting 2025 line-up as well.

About the organizers
Purpose Switzerland is the official point of contact in Switzerland for all matters related to 'Steward Ownership'. Purpose Switzerland helps companies remain permanently independent through the principles of 'Steward Ownership', anchor their purpose-orientation, and structure their succession planning. Besides direct company consulting, the focus lies on knowledge transfer and creating public awareness on the topic. Alternative ownership and financing structures of a company are crucial paths toward long-term and healthy economic activity.
The Purpose Stiftung (Purpose Foundation) was established in 2015 with the goal to inform about steward-ownership and to facilitate its implementation worldwide. As a non-profit, the Purpose Foundation focuses on education and research. Knowledge generated through the practice and experience of and with steward-ownership is made accessible through publications, events, and open-source materials. Its mission: to contribute to an economy that serves people, society and the planet.
The Stiftung Verantwortungseigentum (Foundation for Steward-Ownership), founded in November 2019, connects steward-owned companies in Germany and advocates for a better legal framework for the implementation of steward-ownership. To this end, the foundation is in exchange with independent legal scholars, who have drafted a bill for a new legal form for steward-ownership, and is in direct contact with politicians. The coalition of the new federal government, comprised of the conservatives and the social democrats, has committed itself in its coalition agreement to introduce such a new independent legal form. In addition to the political work, the foundation promotes education and research as well as information and the exchange of experience on the topic of steward-ownership within the framework of a non-profit cooperation.
